Frequently Asked Questions

Does my toddler have to be 2 years old to register?

As long as they are a  stable walker and will turn two within the dance year, we will be glad to have them try our Tiny Tots class!

Does my toddler need to be potty trained?

Being potty trained is not a prerequisite to start class. Our only requirement is that they are wearing a clean diaper or pull-up when they come into the classroom and a parent or guardian stay on site in case they need to be changed.

What if my child cries the whole time?

Our philosophy is to introduce your child to our studio and staff and talk about all the fun things we will do, then a staff member will walk them to class. They may cry, but in our years of experience we have found that even the fussiest children stop completely after a few classes. We will consistently  encourage them to participate, but not force.  Every child will join in when they feel ready and we don't mind waiting!

Can I observe the class?

We do not have space in the dance rooms as an observation area. We will periodically take photos and videos, which we share on our private Facebook page (with an appropriate photo release on file). If there is a particular day or class you want pictures from, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate those requests.

Is participation in performances mandatory?

While encouraged, participation in the Annual Performance is not mandatory. All students will learn the choreography, but only those performing will be given a permanent spot in formations and final poses.

Do you offer adult classes?

We believe dance has no age or gender, so we offer adult classes. Please contact us or view our class schedule for offerings.

Can I register for a pointe class?

Pointe is a beautiful form of dance. It also requires strength, training and proper technique.  For safety reasons, all students who are interested in pointe must be evaluated by the Director and/or Ballet Teacher.

Do you participate in dance competitions?

While we are primarily a non-competitive studio, competition opportunities are available. Students who chose to compete are encouraged to focus on the experience, not scores or placement. Contact us for more information about our Competition Team.
